1975-04-07, Monday. We hadn't seen Elaine until recently since she wnt to Europe for a few weeks in December, 1973 (see entry for december 14, 1973). She had been difficult to get in touch with. About two months ago I visited her in her apartment. Cathy (cathrine Murphy) sent Elaine an announcement for her show and she came to the opening. Last month we went to her house for dinner. Two weeks ago we ran into her at Robert Wilson's A Letter for Queen Victoria (we had gone with Suzanne Mantell and Stephen Soule). We ivited Elaine for dinner and here she was. Alison Beall was also at dinner, they hadn't met before. We had asparagus with hollandaise sauce, saute de veau marang0 (brown veal stew with tomatoes and mushrooms), brown rice, salad, fruit, banana oatmeal cookies (which I made) and coffee. Alison took Elaine home to Manhattan.

1975-04-14, Monday, Alison came to pose for Cathy (Catherine Murphy). After breakfast we brought Jeffy to the vets to be neutered. zThen we went to Two uys shopping. When we got back I made a buttermilk lemon cake from Maida Heatter's Book of Great Desserts, which we borrowed from Neil (Roseman). Cathy drew Alison and I worked on my city sculpture. Later in the afternoon we had tea and cake. We went to the Sapnish restaurant and picked up Jeffy. We payed Alison for the last few modeling sessions.

1975-04-15, Tuesday, Warner Ragland. I played Warner to take me to Manhattan with my sculpture, Hoboken and Manhattan. I was taking it to Sculpture Services, 9 East 19th Street. I was having it cast in resin. We did some other errands and came back here for lunch (banana omelets and left over lemon cake). In two weeks Warner is moving permanently to Provincetown, Mass.

After the movies, we went to La Isla (our favorite Cuban restaurant) for dinner, with Alison and Scott (see next entry) and later we all played Jeopardy.

1975-05-28, Wednesday, We went to Chinatown for dinner, to the Mandarin Inn (we went by car, which I had rented to pick up a sculpture in NY the day before). They returned or keys. They had been feeding our cats while we were in Massachusetts. We gave them two jars of stewed tomatoes Frank (Catherine's father) had put up. Doug brought over a sour dough bread he had made (it was terrific).

1975-06-22, Sunday, Susan Packard, Neil Roseman. We gave them a home made Chinese dinner. beef with peas and peanuts, kung pao shrimp, dry fried string beans, lemon chicken, fruit and almond cookies for dessert. Neil brought wine, susan brought flowers. Neil brought the record player for my birthday and the present my mother brought from Mexico. (My birthday was on May 10th). Neil also brought us some meat. (appendage - added around 1977 - In the fall of 1977 after having married, Susan moved to Minneapolis (about a week after the exhibition I was in at the Walker Art Center) and got a job at the Walker.
