Alison posed for Cathy on Thursday and Friday. Rosemary (Hamilton) joined Cathy and Alison for dinner on Friday. That evening I was working for Neil (Roseman) at NYU. He was in charge of the Bobst Library food operation. It was also my 29th birthday. Alison slept in our guest room. My parents had given us the money for a bed for that room as a housewarming present, so Alison was the first person to use sleep in our guest room.

On Friday we went out to dinner with Jon and Joy (Santlofer) at the Clam Broth House in Hoboken. Jon came over in the afternoon. Jon and Joy are considering buying a house in Hoboken. Cathy's eye has been hurting all day from strain so she didn't paint Alison on Friday night. Alison did all the dishes today.

Kay & Frank Murphy (Cathy's parents), Betty & Jack Keddy (Cathy's sister & brother-in-law), Ben & Katie Keddy (Jack & Betty's children, our nephew and niece) all took a trip to see us. They came for a long-awaited visit and arrived Thursday afternoon. We had dinner here Thursday evening— salmon soufflee, coq au vin, boiled potatoes, zucchini, and frozen caramel mouse for dessert. Jon and Joy came over to visit with everyone after dinner (see entry, Jon and Joy May 2, 1974). Kay and Frank slept in our bed, Cathy and I slept in the living room, Betty and Jack in the guest room, Ben with Kay and Frank, Katie in Cathy's work room. Friday morning, we all had breakfast together— fresh orange juice, bacon, fried eggs, banana bread (Cathy made it from Alison Beall's mother's recipe), tea and coffee. On Friday, Kay and Frank watched Katie. Cathy, and Betty and Jack went to Fourcade Droll and shopping. Ben and I went to the Museum of Natural History and the Empire State Building (the weather was bad). Friday night, we went to the Mandarin Inn for dinner and brought dessert home from Farraras (all in Manhattan). Neil (see entry, Neil May 3rd, 1994) came over when we got home to visit with Kay and Frank etc. The overnight visitors left Saturday morning at about 10:30 a.m. Kay brought me a beautiful Chinese medallion butter dish for a present. See next entry.
