Caption: Jon came over to pose for Cathy, then took us and Pansy to the Vet. We went to the Morrison Animal Hospital in Paramus, N.J. where Jon and Joy bring their cats, Noodles and Lulu. Pansy had her distemper shot and round worm medicine. We also made an appointment to have her neutered. Jon said he would take me back to Paramus for the appointment. The doctor said he thinks her attacking our faces will pass. Jon posed for another hour when we came home. While I was at the store, the man from Gimbles Home Upolstery service had come to the house. He was crazy and rude to Jon and Cathy.

Caption: Neil came to pick up two books he had gotten for me from the libraray at NYU. One I had lost and one was overdue. The one I lost was out of print. So they charged me $30 for it. They were both about Akhenaten and Nefertiti. I wanted to read them before I went to see the Akhenaten exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum.

Caption: Neil said he would take us shopping. They came by and took us to Nyack, which was supposed to be the first stop. We bought china and a small table at another store. Then we went to a cemeteryCliffside Park at Palusso's, a restaurant Jon and Joy (Santlofer) recommended.

Caption: Elaine came to pose. Jon and Joy came over in the morning to see the things we bought yesterday (see last entry). After Elaine posed, Jon and Joy came back and all of us went to La Isla for dinner. It was even better than the last time we were there. We had Battita Guanabana, avacado salad and an assortment of small assorted desserts, all extra and at no charge. Delicious expresso was only 15 cents. The food was terrific.

Caption: Sidney came up from Philadelphia to bring up his wife's (Eileen Goodman) painting. He also brought up a painting by Martha Erlebacher as well. These paintings were to be included in a still life show at the First Street Gallery (a cooperative gallery that Cathy was a member of). Martha was a teacher of Cathy's and mine at Pratt Institute and she suggested Eileen Goodman for the show.

Caption: He met us at our new apartment, and then Jon and Joy (see next entry) came over to ( 9a surprise). Then we went back to Poplar Street to exchange presents with Neil. He gave me the Britannica Encyclopedia of America Art. And he gave Cathy a beautiful Spode bowl that she had liked when we were in Nyack and some other smaller presents. We got him an art deco book, salt and pepper shakers, and a pitcher with six glasses. Then we all went to dinner. See next entry.

Caption: They came over to our new apartment at 390 Ogden Avenue (an apartment that we seemed to have intermittently due to the erratic nature of the landlord). Cathy and I were in the new apartment painting walls. The five of us, including Neil Roseman, went back to our house at 35 Poplar Street. All of this took place in Jersey City. We exchanged Christmas presents with Neil, and then the five of us went to dinner at La Isla, the Cuban restaurant in North Bergen that we go to often. See previous entry.

Caption: Alison slept over Saturday and then again on Sunday, Sunday because she was out of gas - January 19 - 22, and then again on Monday. It was close to Cathy's birthday (January 22), so everyone came over to celebrate. I made Marjolaine (a French cake invented by Fernand Point). Alison also posed for Cathy during this visit.
