Suzanne Joelson's show opened that Friday The opening was from 7 to 9 PM. Since we stayed over the night before in Manhattan (see last 7 entries in the previous series), we left for Brooklyn from there. Our plan was to get to the opening close to 7:00PM and stay for a while and then head home to Poughkeepsie (Hyde Park). I was meeting Bryce Daniel at the opening. He is a student at Vassar and is working on a documentary about me and an aspect of my work, including 'Groups' so he came to the Suzanne's opening to tape me photographing groups of people at the opening, which I do regularly when I go to openings and elsewhere. When we arrived a few minutes after 7:00PM. Bryce was already there and had his camera set up. He placed a small microphone on my label which made conversation weird. Studio 10 is down the hall from Theodore Gallery at 56 Bogart Street, which was where Joyce Robins had a show a year or two ago. See the following three entries.

I stood up to take our photograph (see last entry), and Barbara asked if I would like her to take a picture of the four of us. I told her that it wasn't necessary and that the photo is for a project I am working on. She expressed some interest, so I told her a little about the Groups project, Friends and Acquaintances and Chance encounters. Then I asked if I could take their photo and that it would go into Chance Encounters since we didn't know each other. Barbara thought my name sounded familiar, so we talked some more and established we have seen each other at ‘T’ Space and possibly other places. Then I pointed out since we all met and talked, their photograph would now go under Friends and Acquaintances. See the previous entry.

Elena Sisto gave a talk on her work at Vassar. Then, we headed to La Cabanita for dinner. It turned out that there was a power outage on that block, so they were closed.
