After doing much investigating (with Sylvia's help) it seems that this dinner was to celebrate Sylvia (Sylvia Plimack Mangold) and Bob's (Robert Mangold) 50th wedding anniversary. Also one or both of them had shows opening close to or on this date. See the following six entries.
