We planned the day around getting to the opening at The Milton Resnick and Pat Passlof Foundation: "Doing What Comes Naturally, Seven Painters in Their Prime." Our close friend, Joyce Robins, was one of the seven painters. The other people in the show were Riley Brewster, Denzil Hurley, John Obuck, Nathlie Provosty, Rebecca Purdum, and Andrew Spence. Robert Storr curated the show. We got to Chelsea in the morning and saw the Dana Schutz show, the James Siena shows, and a couple of others. We had lunch at Bottino's. We were hoping to have time to go to Dawn Clements' memorial service at Pierogis before getting to Joyce's opening. When we stopped by Pierogis, the memorial service had already started, and the gallery was jammed with chairs that were jammed with people. So we headed straight to Joyce's show. See the following entry.
