2008-02-09 Adrienne and Peter, Saturday, Adrienne Elisha, Peter Laki. On January 26, Catherine and I had gone to a concert at Vassar College. Adrienne was on of the performers. She had written and performed awork for viola and voice. Catherine, Barbara Page and I all thought the piece was brilliant. The music had not only moved me both emotionally and intellectually, but I also felt an afinity for it. The next day, after finding out how to get in touch with Adrienne, I emailed her, both to tell her how much I loved the piece, to introduce myself and to put forth an idea to her, that I thought it would be terrific if she would be interesting in playing inside my drawing that I am scheduled to do this summer at the Kleinert Art center in Woodstock. After a few emails we had arranged for Adrienne to come over to my studio to see what I did in person. By the time Peter and Adrienne left we were talking about Adrienne writing apiece for the concert in the drawing. I have now been figuring out the logistics and talking with the people at the Kleinert Art Center to see if it is possble to do this. We talked in the studio and then went over to the house and had tea and cake with Catherine.
